saving billions on utility bills

So, space blankets have the potential to reduce heating and cooling bills by billions of dollars. There are several problems, but like any worthy conquest they can be conquered.

The idea is put up spaces blankets inside the house on exterior walls reducing energy loss.

This turns out to be easy by hanging big sheets of spaces blankets that are over 8 feet tall.

Problems:

They keep windows covered. If the space blankets are used like movable curtains then they don't seal well, losing some energy.

They look like a science experiment. Most people, like me, don't want their walls covered in shiney plastic that looks like tin foil.

Exterior doors must be fully accessible, creating more energy loss.

It doesn't currently work well to apply space blankets like wall paper, because they need air on both sides to work well. They need to hang, but not be glued to the wall.

And probably other stuff. Any time humans seek to dramatically improve things the world usually fights back.

If this is done by simply hanging sheets up, it's easy and effective, but looks tacky.

Decorative shower curtains help, since they are big and easy to hang, but people may feel weird with shower curtains on the walls.
