 There are two times where God sets up a possibility for an earthly eternal living environment; the garden of Eden(death trap garden) and the promised land(flowing with sodomy and human sacrifice). Neither one lasted very long, in fact if Satan knew that the eternal lake of fire was coming, it seems like he would work extra hard to have kept Adam and Eve away from the death trap tree. But all indications are that Satan worked overtime to ruin both situations and hasten his eternal torture.
