American medical system is maddening

 The American medical payment system is very evil, almost as evil as the IRS, internal revenue service. Here are a few of the problems: 

• No one can tell you how much you will be billed for service.
• Having Medicare doesn't cover all medical costs, and no one can tell you what is covered and how much you will be billed.
• There is no way to contain your costs except to keep paying for more health care plans, which cost more money and never guarantee all your costs are covered.
• You can always be billed for more money from the healthcare provider, no matter how much insurance you have. 
• The insurance companies are "for profit", which means they are getting rich off of sick people. 
• They are taking advantage of sick people. You are sick, and often help is available, but they won't tell you the cost. Event if you make a significant effort to get them to tell you, they will probably charge more. You are ill and they are raking in your $$$$.
