Software development
Managers in software development are looking for something to complain about. Usually it's the schedule or the quality of your work. I rarely hit the schedule, because the quality is what the customer experiences. Customers don't really care if the project is late, within limits. Managers push developers to agree to "aggressive" schedules, which often cause poor quality work. Managers will push for a "happy path" schedule which assumes no problems in development, there is no such schedule. A reasonable schedule is "happy path" plus 20%. Even with 20% extra time the developers must be very determined to hit the schedule with quality. Projects will fight you, and attack you with brain fog. There are many ways to fail and few ways to succeed, kind of like getting into heaven. Matthew 7:11-14
