electric cars 2026

My first car in the 1970s went 300 miles on a tank of gas. Many electric cars today will go that far on a single charge, so why won't I buy one?
- They don't go far in cold weather
- There aren't enough charging stations
- The cost of electricity at a station isn't clear
- Different charging stations work different
- Electric cars are expensive to buy
They work very well in certain scenarios, like commuting and charging at home, but in general they are not as flexible.
