recurring computer chip shortage

 Somehow the free market is not working appropriately when it comes to computer chips. We continue to run into shortages over the last 6 years. In almost any other kind of market where we knew what the solution was we would ramp up and if anything end up with a surplus. We keep blaming it on new technology or AI or a shortage of critical materials, but somehow it's being created artificially, just like the oil shortage was an artificial shortage back in 1970s. We're burning more oil than ever today and there's no shortage.
