phone apps

 The internet browser was going to give us a universal app interface that would always be up to date, because each time you requested the page you would get the latest page from the web server. But I'm convinced that humanity is doomed for this reason alone, companies insist on having a web app that you install on your device. It is completely unclear to me what advantage this brings to anyone. It requires the companies to have two apps at least; one for apple, one for Google. So it requires more work and they're constantly hounding you to update the app. Now I think there's an auto update feature where you can just let the phone keep updating stuff whenever it wants to, but I hate that. I'm old school I want to know what you're doing to my phone. It all goes into this idea that the system is just going to take care of you somehow and when they haul you away to the indoctrination center you'll just go quietly, you'll be thinking well this is just the way it works.
