There is some sort of very weird dynamic between indoor and outdoor temperature. If it's cold outside it feels so good to come inside to a 74° f house. But if it warms up just a little bit, even 78°, then it feels wonderful to come in to a 72° house. In fact 74° suddenly feels hot. And in the winter 72° feels cold. You don't even have to go outside, just knowing that there's a temperate or differential makes it feel better. I don't know if this is physiological or psychological or some of both. But it's very strange. And if it's like 10° outside and you come into a 65° house it feels great for a few minutes, but then it starts feeling cold. If you come into a 74° house it feels a little bit hot at first but then it just starts feeling great. I think we need to spend billions of dollars to study this and understand it completely and possibly come up with some way to use it or weaponize it or something.
