 Smart phones should be called smart cameras that happen to make phone calls. The camera has become the key differentiator. Any phone will have a decent battery, make calls, ok speakers, some way to charge the battery, internet, email, texting, social media, a play store for apps, a screen, an exterior, some form of security. They try gimmicks like making the phone thin or very lite or big or small or fold up like origami. Sure. Elvis is dead, the camera is king. 

They should at least be called a "camera phone". 

Which brings up another point, humans are very intelligent dopes.
