cannon towels

 This label is from an old cannon bath towel. What is interesting is the detail and gold colored thread in the label. There are 3 emblems and they were made in the USA. Buildings and houses from the 1800s and early 1900s are quite often more detailed and decorative than modern box construction. America once did amazing things to beautify normal products that were built to last. Now we make some amazing stuff, but it's just stamped out. I regularly throw away stuff and buy the newer upgrade, rather than fix something.

 

Notice this tiny label from the same company. The label still used dyed thread, but it has faded and the label is one color and simple. It's hard to know, but this label is probably from decades later than the first label.
