I met a doctor!

Years ago I went to a hair salon to get my haircut. The same lady cut my hair every time, she was in her late 30s. One time I went in and she was euphoric, floating around the ceiling, just bubbling over with excitement. She explained that she had met a guy and they were going to get married. This guy was 40 years old and a doctor! They were going to be so happy together. She was going to move to the town he lived in and she still might cut hair for something to do, but mostly drive around in a Mercedes. Well back then my general haircut schedule was once a month. The next month she was completely deflated. Long droopy face. Hi how's it going? "Not good, the doctor and I broke up. He told me that being a doctor was stressful and that he was tired of being a full-time doctor. He was either going to go part-time at a clinic or he was going to quit being a doctor completely and get out of the people business. After thinking about it for about a week I broke it off. It seems a little bit late in life to be changing your career choices especially after all effort you make to become a doctor."
My take on this is she was the typical gold digger. First of all they really didn't know each other when they decided to get married. And as euphoric as she was, she was probably hell in bed. But when things didn't go her way, the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow evaporated, and she was a butterfly, and butterflies are free to fly, fly away.
Think about how this guy dodged the bullet. She probably would have been okay, as long as things went her way. Fortunately, he let the air out of her tire and the relationship went flat.
